when i was 3 years old i started preschool at my local church. in that little church room i gained two of the best lifelong friends. after preschool we went to separate schools and became interested in different things, but our friendship never changed. to this day Shelby and Maric are my very very best friends.
Shelby and i were fortunate enough to be able to go to elementary, middle school, and some of high school together. she would come over to my house every day after school and we'd play house and eat juice snacks. we were so inseparable that people at school thought we were either twins and nicknamed us Shelly and Kelly. we even got shirts made that said our nicknames on them for "twin day" in 3rd grade! later my cousin Tom re-nicknamed (is that a word? lol) us Seashell. ya see what he did there?
Facts: Shelby is one of the smartest people i know. she ALWAYS scored better than me on every test, in every subject. we always say she has the "smarts" and i have the "arts". she was a cheerleader from elementary school until the end of high school. as a child she could name every part in a car engine. her favorite color as a child was red. she LOVES m&ms. in elementary school she wore a middle part with a low bun, DVCs, and gauchos. she used to HATE hugs, but my family broke her of that because we love hugs. she used to ride dirt bikes all the time. she's super funny. every guy turns their head when she walks by. in 2nd grade she got her hair cut so short that they shaved it a little and she thought it was so cool.
this picture ^^^ is funny because it shows our height difference. it's funny how when you're growing up you're taller than your friends then you shorter than your friends then your taller... at this point in our lives i was much shorter, but now i'm taller! (pictured below) haha I WINNNNN!

funny story: i was born jaundice a common condition where the color of the newborn's skin is a yellow color from the excess of the pigment bilirubin. a lot of babies are born with it and it's not a big deal because it's easy to cure. Shelby found out about this when we were in 6th grade and she thought it was so funny! she told EVERYONE in our class, "Kelsea was born yellow!". in response, i made up the story that she doesn't have a belly-button. which of course isn't possible, BUT THEY BELIEVED IT. this went on for a while and to this day we still joke about it.
the three of us graduated high school this year, which means our college journey is beginning. Maric and i get to go to the same school, but Shelby decided to go to NAU. i'm so excited that she decided to go there, because i'm looking forward to visiting. i guess i'm pretty excited for her, too. haha!
have a great time in college Shelb! make good choices, study hard, and come home often PLEASE.
i loveeeeeeeeee you.
