summary of my week: "we went to the US Open of surfing"

lunch time with these girlies in the staff room
found this tiny little guy in World Market and tried to convince Lane that one day a engagement ring would look great in there! only time will tell if he agreed...
i found this picture on my phone haha
i made a chocolate and a strawberry pie for our staff potluck. they were gobbled up and everyone loved them! Grandma's crust never fails... also the pie pan that the strawberry one was in took a nasty fall off the top of my car when i got home. RIP one Grandma's pie pans :(
Lane and I road tripped up to Huntington beach for the US Open of Surfing on Saturday

yummy lime and lemon juice on my watermelon
Lakey Peterson and Stephanie Gilmore getting ready for their heat
a polaroid selfie with my love
on our way home we stopped at a Buffalo Exchange in Costa Mesa. it turned out to be in a place called "The LAB".  i read this on their website: "The LAB, recycled from a night vision goggle factory, began its journey to combat retail monotony almost 20 years ago. In the midst of Orange County’s suburbia and perfectly planted palm trees, we recognized a need for a homey, indoor-outdoor hang out with shops and restaurants geared for the young at heart, and not offered in every mall on every corner. The “LAB” stands for “Little American Business” and that’s what we are, and what we continue to support." this place was the most hipster place I've see. i loved it and after looking at their website i love everything they stand for. i will surely be going back one day!

 the Buffalo Exchange

waiting in line to exchange my clothes. we had to wait outside because the store is so small and there were a couple people ahead of me.
how cute are the teapots in the window? and the metal jugs (i don't know what to call them exactly) in the middle far left, had water pouring out of them

this lad walking through the tree tunnel with his purchases in hand
we took a break from the traffic and pouring down rain to eat at In-n-Out. this is a picture of my seat after i got up. that little pile is sand...whoops...
since i got my first paid check EVER on friday, i decided to splurge on something i've been wanting for a long time...A TYPEWRITER! i bought this from a girl i babysit for, Jackie. she gave me a great price and taught me how to use it!
new verses old
Lane shared about his trip to the Dominican Republic to the high school ministry in church
after church Sydney and i went to the swap meet. i got this little guy.
$3
i also got...
these two vintage "Homegrown" albums. they have a collection of music by local artists...it's so fun to listen to the songs about places i know very well. ex: "Going Back to Clairemont".
$5 for both
this little vintage can.
$1
these two vintage, stackable, glass mugs. it's hard to tell but the top one goes from red to orange and the bottom one goes from orange to yellow. so fun!
$5 each
when dad got home from fishing he took me to "The Studio Diner" for dinner. i'm so thankful this place is so close to our house, because their mac and cheese is out of this world!
