want to DIY

I LOVEEEEE to DIY anything and everything. I'm always getting inspiration from Instagram, Facebook, blogs, Pinterest, tv, books...

[these are not my pictures]

I've been getting super stressed with school, my new puppy, and figuring out this new stage in my life. One of the best ways I know to relieve my stress is to be creative, so I'm going to try to DIY a lot  more.

Here are my inspirations and somethings you might see on the blog sometime in the near future!

With this I'm thinking of getting a map of California printed on fabric then I'll hand embroider "home" on the San Diego, THEN sewing a pillow out of it!
I NEED to make this soon.
Don't know what i would do with this after i made it, but its so cool!
A granny square blanket, i'm working on this now!

Go craft something instead of doing homework.
It's good for you!

summary of my week: "fiber art heaven"

I didn't take many pictures this week! ohhh wellll...

My mom took me to The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner on monday!
This week i was VERY into crocheting/knitting/and all fiber arts.
This is a picture of an infinity scarf that I'm making!
Here's a yarn bomb I spotted at the mall.
i had the privilege of spending 23 hours with Nati while Lane and Marty were camping!
we stayed at her parents' house because she was housesitting, but i'm not complaining because they live right up the street from this ^^^
We made soup and pumpkin snicker doodles from scratch...so yummy!
Then we watched a super depressing movie.
The next day we went to a local vintage sale.

Then we are acai bowls and went in the ocean.
SO incredibly thankful for this relationship^^^
This is the hat i made in my loom!
I helped Lane get his first library card and then we spent hours in the browsing through books, VHS tapes, and everything in-between.

summary of my week: "Llama and fish reunited"

I went to the library for a while and found TONS of books to read.
I'm trying to do less electronics and more crafting and reading!
How cute is this bag of bananas and little pumpkins!
I love when she lays like this! Too cute.
I got to see my KENDAL on tuesday! I was crying in this picture!
She got to meet Harper!
Then we went for Sushi...
and she wrote this on the table paper covering!

I hosted a little cinnamon roll and tea party to celebrate this girl's 18th birthday!
Then we went to Forever 21.
Then in the SAME DAY this girl came over for lunch, painting nails, and watching Mary Kate and Ashley movies.
Harper burrito.
I scored on these vintages bowls at the thrift store for $3!

On a serious note: My Grandma died 3 years ago on Sunday. She taught me how to make her mother's pie crust and every anniversary of her death or on her birthday I make a pie to celebrate her life. I miss her everyday, but I'm so glad she's HOME.

summary of my week: "adjusting to fall and Harper"

Crocheted this for EPIC GLASS POSSE YARN BOMB!! first ever granny square what whattttttt.
This little girl helped me wash my car.
Then got her own bath!
I got mail from my Sarah!
I made this AHHHH-MAZING pumpkin bread with maple glaze. Try it. You won't regret it!

Then I made 4 more for my friends/family.
Waking up with this girl has been too sweet.
On saturday night, Lane and I went to Marty and Natalie's (Lane's brother and sister-in-law+my soon to be family) house. We carved pumpkins, made pumpkin seeds, and ate fish tacos for dinner!

Fish tacos, cinnamon sugar pumpkin seeds, and garlic pumpkin seeds.
We had the neighbor judge the winner.
Olaf won!
Can you guess which one is mine?
(answer: the one that kinda looks like a vw bus)
So proud of Harper for finally getting comfortable in the car. She sits in the backseat on her blanket and goes to sleep!
After church one Sunday Heather, Harper, and I went to Little Italy to watch Lane's stickball games and go to Little Italy Festa! What a beautiful day in San Diego.
GIANT Italian sour candy ropes.
This girl and I made big plans while watching Lane's game.
We're planning on going camping in the next couple weekends! So EXCITED.
